About Us
I'm Christen and I love to create custom items. I've spent quite a bit of time reflecting on why that's the case. Sometimes, this business really takes a toll on me and it's always time away from my family, so why do I do it? When I was expecting our first daughter, I wanted her name or monogram on everything! There was just something so special about seeing her name (that we spent hours and hours picking out!) on items I had lovingly picked out just for her. So, I learned how to customize just about everything. Then I started doing it for others and seeing them light up inspired this little shop. The more things I made, the more inspired I got and as people shared how much they loved their items or a gift recipient loved their items...or my personal favorite, how much their child loved seeing and recognizing their name on an item, I began to feel so connected to this work and to each person who chose to purchase something from me. Hearing your stories when you place an order for a set of tumblers for a girls trip to celebrate a friend who just beat cancer, or gifts for your wedding party, or just a funny tumbler with your husband's nickname on it...these things are all so personal to you and I'm honored to share in commemorating or bringing smiles to you and the people you do life with.
How did I name my shop and what does it mean, you ask?
It actually references one of my favorite scriptures, Ephesians 4:1, "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received."(NIV)...and when I picked it, it was a reference to my oldest daughters birthday, April 1st (after all, she was my original inspiration!). I'll leave you with a short synopsis of Eph. 4:1 and you can go here to read more!
Ephesians 4:1–10 is Paul's compelling description of Christian unity. Every saved believer, regardless of talent or skill, Jew or Gentile, male or female, is saved by the same faith in the same God. Each Christian, therefore, is part of a single, universal family of believers in Jesus Christ. At the same time, God gives different gifts to different people, so that they can serve the many roles needed to accomplish His purposes here on earth. Rather than being concerned about what gifts we might lack, each Christian can rejoice in our unity, and focus on serving God to the best of our ability.
So who is "us"?
We're a small "Mom and Pop" shop, literally. And, we're proud of that. My husband calls this "my shop", but the truth is, I couldn't do any of this without his support, encouragement, and understanding. He knows how to do a few things and pitches in when he can, but as a coach, husband, and kick butt Dad, he's got his hands pretty full already. So, while I run the day to day operations and make everything you purchase, he's behind the scenes keeping us all sane!
Whew! Who knew I had so much to say about "us". Have questions I didn't cover? Reach out, I'm happy to answer!
